In Mijn lagen (2022–present), Pénélope Bagieu and Toon Dohmen collaborate on a single-issue comic from Scratch Books that explores layered personal narratives through Bagieu’s distinctive visual storytelling. The series, written by both creators and illustrated solely by Bagieu, distills a focused, intimate character study into a compact format. Its significance lies in Bagieu’s celebrated ability to blend humor and empathy, here applied to a Dutch-language release that showcases her versatile artistry beyond her well-known biographical works.
