Messalina gigante

In the early 1970s, Italian publisher Ediperiodici unleashed Messalina gigante, a bold, lavishly painted comic series that ran for 18 issues. The title is most closely associated with the lush, cinematic artwork of Carlo Jacono, whose painted covers and interiors defined the series' look, alongside contributions from Pino Dangelico. A key entry in the Italian "fumetti neri" tradition, it stands out for its atmospheric, adult-oriented storytelling and striking visual style.
