Mesmo Delivery

In 2008, Desiderata published the debut issue of Mesmo Delivery, a graphic novel by Brazilian artist Rafael Grampá that blends gritty crime noir with surreal, hyper-detailed artwork. The story follows a mysterious driver and his hulking, mute companion as they transport a strange cargo across a desolate landscape, encountering violence and oddball characters along the way. Though only a single issue, Grampá's distinctive, cinematic style and the book's fusion of pulp and grotesque humor made it an instant cult favorite, showcasing the international reach of modern indie comics.
