About the series
From 1975 to 1976, Meester der Kung Fu brought the martial-arts mastery of Shang-Chi to Dutch readers, reprinting and translating stories from the American Master of Kung Fu series. Published by Classics/Williams, this 14-issue run featured the core creative team of writers Steve Englehart, Doug Moench, and Jim Starlin, with Starlin, Al Milgrom, and Paul Gulacy providing the artwork. The series pitted Shang-Chi against his villainous father Fu Manchu, alongside allies like Sir Denis Nayland Smith and Black Jack Tarr, establishing a gritty, espionage-infused kung-fu saga that defined the character for a generation of European fans.
