In the late '80s, Dark Horse unleashed a short-lived but memorable series that twisted the horror-comedy dial to eleven. Written by John Arcudi and illustrated by Doug Mahnke, these four issues center on the bizarre, violent antics of Big-Head, a monstrous alter ego that torments mild-mannered Stanley Ipkiss and those around him, including his girlfriend Kathy and the beleaguered Lt. Kellaway. A cult-favorite precursor to the later film, Mayhem established the raw, unhinged energy that would define the character's world.
