Mayday

Set aboard a drifting ghost ship in the 19th century, this taut two-issue miniseries from French publisher Glénat (2009–2010) spins a claustrophobic survival tale. Written by Jean-David Morvan and illustrated by Zep, it follows a lone sailor's desperate struggle against the elements and his own sanity after his vessel is struck by a mysterious catastrophe. The series is a standout example of concise, atmospheric storytelling in Franco-Belgian comics.
