Maverick

Published by the Danish imprint I.K. (Illustrerede Klassikere), Maverick ran for 29 issues from 1963 to 1966, adapting the popular television Western into a comic series. The title followed the adventures of the charming, card-playing gambler Bret Maverick as he navigated the Old West with wit rather than violence. While the series drew on the show's established tone, it stands out for bringing a lighter, more roguish brand of frontier storytelling to European readers during the height of the TV Western craze.
