About the series
Marzi is a semi-autobiographical comic series from the Belgian publisher Dupuis, launched in 2005 and ongoing, created by writer Marzena Sowa and artist Sylvain Savoia. The story follows a young girl growing up in 1980s Poland, offering a warmly observed, slice-of-life view of daily existence behind the Iron Curtain. Over seven issues, it blends personal memory with historical context, making the experience of a child in a changing Eastern Europe both intimate and universally resonant.
