Marvel Illustrated: Treasure Island

About the series
In 2007, Marvel's short-lived Marvel Illustrated line adapted Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure novel Treasure Island into a six-issue miniseries, scripted by veteran writer Roy Thomas. The series paired Thomas's faithful narrative with the distinctive painted covers of legendary fantasy artist Greg Hildebrandt and interior art by Mario Gully, bringing the swashbuckling tale of young Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, and the hunt for buried gold to a new generation of comic readers. It stands as a polished example of Marvel’s mid-2000s effort to translate timeless literature into the comic medium.
