About the series
In the late 1990s, the Croatian publisher Slobodna Dalmacija brought the globe-trotting adventures of the "Detective of the Impossible" to a new audience with this 42-issue series. Martin Mystere, a Manhattan-based anthropologist and investigator of paranormal mysteries, teamed with the Neanderthal Java to explore ancient enigmas and high-tech conspiracies. This run made the iconic Italian character a staple for a generation of readers in the former Yugoslavia.
