About the series
In the early 1990s, French publisher Glénat brought the globe-trotting "detective of the impossible" Martin Mystère to a new audience, reprinting classic Italian adventures from the long-running Sergio Bonelli series. Over six issues, this short-lived but pivotal run introduced English-reading fans to the archeologist and his loyal Yeti sidekick, Java, as they tackled ancient mysteries and high-tech conspiracies. While it didn't launch a lasting English-language series, this Glénat edition remains a fascinating bridge between the vast European fumetti tradition and American comic shops.
