Marshal Blueberry

From 1994 onward, the Danish publisher Bogfabrikken revived the Western saga with Marshal Blueberry, a two-issue series written by Jean Giraud and Thierry Smolderen, with art by William Vance. This spin-off follows the iconic lawman in a tight, self-contained story that expands the mythos of the Blueberry universe. Though brief, the series is notable for bringing together Giraud—the co-creator of the original character—with Smolderen’s sharp scripting and Vance’s polished ligne claire style, offering a distinct European take on the frontier.
