Mariko Parade

A single-issue comic from the UK's Fanfare imprint, Mariko Parade (2004–present) is a meditative, poetic work that blends Japanese woodblock-print aesthetics with a Western comics sensibility. Created by writer/artist Frédéric Boilet, the series explores themes of love, memory, and cultural dislocation through its delicate, watercolor-like art. Though only one issue has been published, it stands as a distinctive example of the Franco-Belgian nouvelle manga movement, bridging Eastern and Western storytelling traditions.
