Marge's Tubby

Dell · 1953–1961 · 45 issues
About the series

From 1953 to 1961, Dell Comics spun off the chubby, good-natured Tubby from the Little Lulu universe into his own 45-issue series, Marge's Tubby. Anchored by the storytelling of John Stanley, who wrote most of the run and also drew many issues alongside artist Lloyd White, the comic followed Tubby and his pals—Knotknee, Alvin, Iggy, Gloria, and Kathy—through everyday suburban mischief and gentle slapstick. A warm, kid-focused companion to the more famous Lulu, this series showcased Stanley’s knack for sharp, character-driven humor and remains a fondly remembered slice of mid-century Dell fun.
