Manhunt

Mel Graff’s Manhunt (1959–present, World Distributors) is a six-issue crime comic series that follows a hard-boiled detective through a world of shadowy alleys and dangerous dames. Graff, who both wrote and illustrated the entire run, brought a gritty, noir sensibility to each self-contained tale, making the series a concise but potent entry in the British crime comics landscape of the late 1950s. Though brief, its focused, single-creator vision gives it a distinctive, personal feel among the era’s genre offerings.
