Manhunt!

A gritty crime comic published by Superior from 1947 to 1953, Manhunt! ran for twelve issues, following detectives and criminals through shadowy, post-war urban landscapes. The series is most associated with the stark, atmospheric artwork of Bob Powell, whose moody visuals defined the book’s hard-boiled tone. Though brief, Manhunt! stands as a noteworthy example of the pre-Code crime genre, offering a raw, unflinching look at law and disorder before the Comics Code Authority sanitized such stories.
