Mandrake the Magician

From 1961 to 1962, L. Miller & Son revived the classic adventures of Lee Falk's master illusionist in a 24-issue comic series. Primarily illustrated by Phil Davis and Philip Wilding, these British reprints collected the newspaper strip's early, defining tales. The series preserved the elegant, pre-war magic of Mandrake's hypnotic stagecraft and globe-trotting mysteries for a new generation of readers. It remains a key document of how Falk's creation transitioned from daily strips to the comic book page.
