Maffia Classics

From 1974 to 1975, Classics/Williams published Maffia Classics, an 11-issue series that blended crime drama with pulp adventure, largely penned by Basswood Torrent. Each issue featured painted covers and interiors, giving the mob stories a distinctive, almost cinematic visual texture. Though short-lived, the series stands out for its atmospheric, full-painted artwork and its attempt to elevate the gangster genre within the comic medium.
