Mad About Mad
New American Library · 1970–1974 · 3 issues
About the series
Sergio Aragonés, the master of wordless visual comedy, wrote and drew all three issues of this early-1970s series from New American Library. Each oversized issue is a dense, playful collection of his signature margin-skirting gags, pantomime cartoons, and inventive visual puns, with no ongoing narrative. Mad About Mad offers a concentrated dose of Aragonés’s unique, anarchic humor at a time when his work was becoming a defining feature of Mad magazine itself.
