In 1979, the Lebanese publisher Bissat al-Rih (Flying Carpet) launched ما وراء الكون (Beyond the Universe), a 140-issue science-fiction and fantasy comic series that ran until 1982. The series is notable for its eclectic mix of translated American talent, featuring frequent work by Jack Kirby, Carmine Infantino, and Gray Morrow, whose dynamic art brought cosmic adventures to Arabic-speaking readers.
