About the series
In the late 2000s, DC Comics published M.99, a four-issue miniseries that cast the Joker in a strange new light. Written and drawn by a single creator, the story reimagined the Clown Prince of Crime as a time-traveling extraterrestrial hero from the planet M.99. This surreal, self-contained tale offered a brief but memorable departure from the Joker’s usual Gotham City antics.
