Luitenant Blueberry

In the late 1970s, Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud expanded their iconic Western saga with Luitenant Blueberry, a Dutch-language reprint series from Oberon and Dargaud Benelux that collected the early adventures of the hot-tempered U.S. Cavalry officer. Running 21 issues from 1978 to 1983, this series gathered the formative stories that established Blueberry’s reputation as a rugged, morally complex hero of the frontier. It remains a key entry in the larger Blueberry canon, showcasing Giraud’s luminous art and Charlier’s taut, historically grounded storytelling at the peak of their collaboration.
