Los Insuperables

From 1978 to 1980, Ediciones Vértice published Los Insuperables, a 36-issue Spanish comic series that compiled translated adventures of Marvel's X-Men and other superhero teams. The series is notable for showcasing the work of writers like Chris Claremont and Len Wein alongside artists such as John Byrne and Rich Buckler, but it's the striking painted covers by Spanish artist Rafael López Espí that give the series its distinctive visual identity. As one of the key Spanish editions of the era, it introduced a generation of readers to classic American superhero stories through a uniquely local lens.
