Lone Star Magazine
DCMT · 1952–1956 · 46 issues
About the series
Lone Star Magazine, published by DCMT from 1952 to 1956, was a 46-issue Western anthology series that captured the tail end of the genre's golden age in comics. The title is most closely associated with writer-artist Frank Doyle, whose clean, action-packed style defined many of its lead features. While not a landmark title, it offered solid, no-frills cowboy adventure and is a representative example of the kind of durable, mid-century Western fare that filled newsstands before the genre's decline.
