Paula Bulling’s Lichtpause is a quiet, atmospheric comic from the German publisher Rotopol, launched in 2017 and ongoing after a single issue. Bulling, the series’ sole artist, uses delicate linework to explore themes of memory, observation, and the spaces between people. Its intimate, slice-of-life storytelling marks a distinctive voice in contemporary European independent comics.
