Let 'er Rip, Tumbleweeds!

Tom K. Ryan’s long-running newspaper strip Tumbleweeds—a comedic Western set in the dusty town of Tumbleweed—was collected into three Gold Medal Books paperback editions starting in 1969. Ryan wrote and drew the strip himself, spinning gentle, gag-a-day humor out of cowboys, outlaws, and the absurdities of frontier life. These collections preserve the series' affable tone and its status as a beloved, if niche, piece of Western comic strip history.
