Les Cahiers de la BD

From 2017 onward, French publisher Vagator Productions has revived the classic magazine format with Les Cahiers de la BD, a series of 33 thematic issues that blend criticism, history, and new comics. Anchored by the frequent contributions of writer-artist Édika and writer Vincent Bernière, with artist Floc'h also a regular presence, the series offers a scholarly yet accessible deep dive into the art and industry of bande dessinée. It matters as a contemporary, ongoing platform that treats comics as a serious cultural medium, combining archival interviews, essays, and original strips in a single, beautifully designed package.
