About the series
Gilbert Shelton and Dave Sheridan brought their underground comix sensibilities to this short-lived French-language series, Les aventures du Chat de Fat Freddy, published by Artefact from 1978 to 1981. Spanning just three issues, the title spun off the beloved, perpetually stoned feline from Shelton's The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, offering a surreal, gag-driven spotlight on the cat's misadventures. A cult artifact of the era's counterculture comics, it captures the loose, irreverent spirit that made Shelton and Sheridan legends of the underground scene.
