Le Petit Vingtième

As the weekly children's supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle, Le Petit Vingtième was the birthplace of Hergé's most iconic creation. Running for 312 issues from 1928 to 1940, this publication introduced readers to the serialized adventures of Tintin, beginning with Tintin in the Land of the Soviets. Edited and almost entirely written and drawn by Hergé himself, the supplement pioneered the clear line style and rigorous storytelling that would define the Franco-Belgian comic tradition. Its influence on the medium is foundational, establishing the template for the modern adventure comic.
