About the series
From 1975 to 1983, the French publisher Arédit-Artima assembled Le Manoir des Fantômes, a 26-issue horror anthology that repurposed American DC Comics stories for a European audience. The series drew heavily from the macabre work of writer Jack Oleck and artists Jack Kirby, Alfredo Alcala, and Ernie Chan, weaving tales of supernatural dread around recurring figures like the spectral host Caïn and the demonic Daimon Hellstorm, Son of Satan. It stands as a key import bridge, bringing the gothic edge of 1970s American horror comics to Francophone readers.
