Le Journal des Pieds Nickelés

A postwar revival of the classic French comic strip, Le Journal des Pieds Nickelés ran for 34 issues from 1948 to 1951 under the Société Parisienne d'Edition banner. The series is most closely associated with artist Pellos, who brought his energetic, rounded linework to the misadventures of the iconic trio of rogues. This short-lived but fondly remembered volume kept the anarchic spirit of the original alive during the late 1940s, bridging the gap between the pre-war and modern eras of French comics.
