Le Flagada

From 2007 to 2011, Charles Degotte wrote and drew all eight issues of Le Flagada for Le Coffre à BD, a short-lived but distinctive French comic series. The book follows the absurd, slapstick adventures of its titular character, a hapless and perpetually unlucky everyman, through a world of deadpan visual gags and surreal situations. Degotte’s clean, expressive ligne claire style and knack for silent comedy give the series a timeless, playful charm that stands out in the Franco-Belgian tradition. Though brief, Le Flagada is a cult gem for fans of wordless humor and offbeat character-driven comics.
