Le Cœur des Batailles

Jean-David Morvan and Igor Kordey collaborated on this two-issue Delcourt series from 2007–2008, which uses a fictional framing to explore the visceral reality of historical warfare. Rather than focusing on grand strategy, Le Cœur des Batailles delves into the personal, emotional experiences of soldiers in the thick of combat. Kordey's expressive, gritty artwork grounds Morvan's narrative in a raw, human perspective, making this a compact but potent meditation on the cost of conflict.
