Álbum do Texas

A long-running Brazilian anthology series from Editora La Selva, Álbum do Texas launched in 1961 and, despite a brief initial run of six issues, has remained in sporadic publication ever since. The title is most associated with the work of artist and writer Julio Shimamoto, whose visceral, highly detailed style defined the book's Western and adventure stories. It matters as a foundational, cult-favorite title in Brazilian independent comics, showcasing raw, idiosyncratic talent outside the mainstream.
