In 1959, Editorial Bruguera launched a single-issue comic adaptation of Charles Dickens’ The Pickwick Papers, translated by Jose Carbonell Barbera and illustrated by Luis Bermejo. This Spanish-language volume brought the classic serial’s humor and episodic adventures to a new audience through Bermejo’s expressive linework. Though a standalone release, it stands as a notable example of Bruguera’s mid-century literary adaptations, bridging 19th-century English literature with the Spanish comic market of the era.
