L'oud

Farid Boudjellal both wrote and drew this short-lived but culturally significant series from French publisher Futuropolis. Running for just three issues between 1983 and 1988, L'oud tells the story of a young Algerian-French man navigating identity, family, and belonging in France. It stands as an early, important work in European comics to directly explore the immigrant experience and bicultural life from an insider’s perspective.
