About the series
Marvel’s Kull and the Barbarians (1975–1976) is a three-issue black-and-white magazine that brings Robert E. Howard’s brooding Atlantean king into a shared world of sword-and-sorcery. Scripted primarily by Roy Thomas, with art from Alan Weiss, Neal Adams, and Ross Andru, the series pairs Kull with fellow Howard heroes Solomon Kane and Red Sonja, as well as supporting figures like Ka-Nu and Ridondo. Though short-lived, it stands as a key Marvel experiment in blending its barbarian line with the gritty magazine format.
