About the series
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Egmont Ehapa brought the original Star Wars trilogy to German readers with Krieg der Sterne, a 22-issue series that adapted and expanded George Lucas's space opera. Scripted by American talents like Archie Goodwin, David Michelinie, and Walt Simonson, and illustrated by artists such as Carmine Infantino, Gene Day, and Simonson himself, these comics offered a distinctive, officially licensed take on the saga's early years. As a key import of Marvel's Star Wars material for the German market, the series helped build the franchise's continental fanbase with its dynamic, full-color adventures.
