Krazy & Ignatz: The Komplete Kat Comics

Between 1988 and 1991, Eclipse and Turtle Island Books collaborated to re-present George Herriman's landmark newspaper comic strip in a deluxe, archival series titled Krazy & Ignatz: The Komplete Kat Comics. Running nine issues, this collection gathered Herriman's original, surreal Sunday pages—featuring the eternal triangle of Krazy Kat, Ignatz Mouse, and Offisa Bull Pupp—with introductory essays by Gilbert Seldes. It remains a definitive, lovingly produced edition that introduced a new generation to the poetic, dreamlike masterpiece widely considered one of the greatest achievements in American comics.
