Kramers Ergot

A landmark oversized anthology from Gingko Press, Kramers Ergot (2003–2004) was a showcase for the alternative comics avant-garde, edited by Sammy Harkham. Its single, massive issue gathered a who's-who of cartoonists—including Chris Ware, Daniel Clowes, and Charles Burns—in a format that emphasized art over narrative. The series helped define the early-2000s "art comic" movement, pushing the boundaries of the medium with its ambitious scale and uncompromising visual experimentation.
