About the series
In the late 1960s, the Danish publisher I.K. (Illustrerede Klassikere) launched Kontraspionage, a six-issue comic series that brought Cold War espionage to the newsstand. The series is best remembered for its gritty, European-style spy storytelling, distinct from the more flamboyant American superhero adventures of the era. Though short-lived, it remains a notable example of I.K.'s push to offer mature, genre-driven comics to a Scandinavian audience.
