Kommissar Fröhlich

Since 2009, Stephan Hagenow has been writing and drawing Kommissar Fröhlich for Gringo Comics, a German series now spanning 20 issues. The strip follows a perpetually cheerful police inspector through a world of gentle, absurdist humor and small-town crime. Hagenow’s clean, expressive art and dry wit give the series a distinct, quietly charming identity in modern European comics.
