少年KING [Shonen King]

A weekly rival to the juggernaut Weekly Shōnen Jump, Shōnen King was published by Shōnen Gahōsha for 151 issues from 1982 to 1988. The magazine is most closely associated with creator Yūki Hijiri, who both wrote and drew for the series, alongside frequent artist Shigeru Koshiba and a photographer whose name is not recorded. Though short-lived, it carved out a distinctive space in the early-80s shōnen landscape, offering an alternative lineup to readers of the era's dominant weeklies.
