Karzan

Between 1977 and 1978, the Dutch publisher De Vrijbuiter (through its imprint De Schorpioen) released a four-issue comic series titled Karzan. This short-lived run presented a distinctive European take on the jungle-adventure archetype, blending classic pulp tropes with the house style of its anonymous creative team. While it never reached the iconic status of its inspiration, Karzan remains a curious footnote for collectors of 1970s European genre comics, showcasing the era's appetite for rugged, exotic heroes.
