Karl-Alfred

Karl-Alfred was a Swedish comic magazine published by Allers from 1946 to 1953, running for 409 issues. Named after the Swedish translation of Popeye, the series primarily reprinted American newspaper strips, featuring the work of E. C. Segar (Popeye's creator), alongside contributions from Alex Raymond, John Lehti, and Paul Robinson. It served as a key introduction to classic adventure and humor strips for post-war Swedish readers, blending Segar's iconic sailor with Raymond's lush adventure art. Though short-lived, the magazine remains a notable artifact of mid-century European comics publishing.
