A peculiar artifact of the 1970s and 1980s underground comix scene, Kar-tūnz' ran for 18 issues from 1975 to 1990, published by the imprint of the same name. The series is most consistently associated with the surreal, often grotesque cartooning of Drew Friedman, alongside the anonymous contributions signed by "PcVey" and "Schneider." It stands as a cult touchstone for its unpolished, boundary-pushing humor and its role in the alternative-comics landscape of its era.
