Kapteinens jul

Since 1988, Bladkompaniet (now Schibsted) has published Kapteinens jul, a Norwegian holiday comics annual that gathers classic and contemporary strips around a Christmas theme. The series is most closely associated with Rudolph Dirks’ Kapteinen (the Norwegian version of The Katzenjammer Kids), alongside work by Ove Høyer, Tor Lier, Henrik Rehr, and John Dirks. With 37 issues and counting, it has become a staple of the Norwegian winter season, offering a warm, nostalgic blend of slapstick and seasonal cheer.
