Since 2014, the Polish publisher Ongrys has revived the classic communist-era crime fighter Kapitan Żbik for a new generation. Writer and artist Zbigniew Sobala leads the series, joined by artists including Anna Helena Szymborska and Grzegorz Rosiński, chronicling the captain’s investigations alongside Porucznik Ola and his superior, Pułkownik. Running for 44 issues and counting, this modern continuation honors the original's pulp spirit while updating its tone for contemporary readers.
