About the series
For nearly fifteen years, Poland's Sport i Turystyka publisher chronicled the adventures of Kapitan Żbik, a square-jawed state policeman, alongside his colleagues Porucznik Ola and Pułkownik. Across 53 issues, a rotating team of writers including Władysław Krupka and artists such as Jerzy Wróblewski and Grzegorz Rosiński defined the series' clean, dramatic visual style. A cornerstone of Polish comics, it blended crime-fighting with socialist-era morality, shaping the country's comic landscape through its long, consistent run.
