In the early 1970s, the Norwegian publisher Serieforlaget (later Se-Bladene and Stabenfeldt) launched Kalar, a 48-issue series built around a lone hero navigating a harsh, prehistoric world. Writer and artist Tomás Marco Nadal was the creative force behind the entire run, crafting a stark, survival-focused comic that stood apart from the superhero and adventure titles of its era. A starkly illustrated, atmospheric journey through a savage landscape, Kalar remains a distinctive artifact of European genre comics.
